Reservation & Payment

When is my reservation confirmed?

Your reservation is confirmed once CoconutRoads has received full payment for your rental.
An invoice will be sent to you as soon as we receive your rental enquiry.

Cancellation Policy

What is your cancellation policy?

More than 45 days before pick-up:90% refund

45 to 21 days before pick-up:75% refund

Less than 21 days before pick-up:50% refund

Less than 10 days before pick-up:No refund

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Yes. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellations for peace of mind.

Deposit

Is there a deposit, and how does it work?

Yes. A THB 40,000 deposit is required before your Motorhome is delivered.

How can I pay the deposit?

You can pay by:

  • Bank transfer

  • Credit card deposit

  • Cash at the time of vehicle delivery

When will my deposit be refunded?

On your rental return date, after a full inspection confirming there is no damage or missing items, the deposit will be returned to you.

Operating Hours

What days can I pick up or return a Motorhome?

Pick-up and return are available Monday to Saturday.

Are you open on Sundays?

No. We do not offer collections or returns on Sundays.

What are the pick-up and drop-off windows?

  • Pick-up:​ 15:00 – 18:00

  • Drop-off:​ 09:00 – 12:00

Driver Information

Is there a fee for additional drivers?

No. Additional drivers are free of charge.

What documents do drivers need to provide?

For all named drivers 25 years old and above, we require:

  • Valid Thai or International driving licences held for a minimum of 5 years

  • Passport copies for all guests

  • A credit card (valid for at least 6 months) for the security deposit

Are all named drivers insured?

Yes. All named drivers are insured under the same terms of your rental agreement.

Pick-Ups

How do I arrange my collection time?

Just let us know your preferred pick-up time when booking. We will ensure your Motorhome is fully prepared.

Where do I pick up and return the Motorhome?

All pick-ups and returns take place at the CoconutRoads base in Phuket.

Is there a handover process?

Yes. Before you set off, we will walk you through a full handover and jointly inspect the vehicle so you feel confident and familiar with all features.

Do you offer one-way rentals?

Not at the moment.
All vehicles must be returned to the same pick-up point.

Returning Your Motorhome

What should I do before returning the Motorhome?

Please:

  1. Refuel with diesel before returning the vehicle.

    • A convenient PTT station is located near our base.

    • Only refuel at reputable stations such as PTT, Shell, or Caltex.

  2. Return the vehicle no later than 12:00 hrs.

What if I don’t return the vehicle with a full tank?

A THB 4,000 refuelling service fee will be applied.

Why is returning by 12:00 important?

It allows us to prepare the Motorhome for the next guest and avoid delays to their adventure.

Late Returns & Early Drop-Offs

What happens if I return the Motorhome late?

A late return will incur THB 1,000 per hour.
If your delay causes the next booking to be cancelled, you will be charged the full cost of the affected reservation.

Are there exceptions for late returns?

Yes. If the delay is caused by:

  • A breakdown, or

  • An accident not caused by your actions,

If the immobilisation is due to:

  • Reckless driving

  • Gross negligence

  • Careless behaviour

you may be liable for repair and recovery costs until the vehicle is safely returned.

Can I request a late drop-off?

Sometimes, yes.
If there are no bookings immediately after yours and you contact us in advance, we may allow a late return until 18:00, subject to:

  • Written approval

  • A THB 1,000 “late drop” fee

Can I return the Motorhome early?

Yes, but unused days are non-refundable.

Other Questions

How many people can travel in a CoconutRoads Motorhome?

Each Motorhome can carry a maximum of four people:

  • Two in the truck cabin

  • Two in the home cabin

All passengers have seatbelts, and they must be worn at all times, as required by law.

Can children travel in the Motorhome?

Our Motorhomes are not suitable for very young children.
The minimum age for a child to travel is 12 years old.
If you're travelling with minors, you accept full responsibility for their safety and wellbeing throughout the journey.

Are pets allowed in CoconutRoads Motorhomes?

Unfortunately, no.
Pets are not permitted, and bringing animals inside the Motorhome will result in:

  • A penalty, and

  • A deep-cleaning fee

We know pets are part of the family, but for now, we must kindly ask that they stay at home.

How is the Motorhome prepared before my trip?

Every Motorhome is handed over with:

  • A full tank of diesel

  • Proper oil and coolant levels

  • A full maintenance check

What should I do if I notice a mechanical issue on the road?

If anything feels unusual - strange sounds or a mechanical concern - please visit the nearest garage.

  • For major issues, a brand dealer is preferred.

  • Keep all receipts, and we will reimburse you in full.

May I cook inside the Motorhome?

  • No open flames inside the vehicle (strictly prohibited)

  • A microwave is provided for heating food

How clean must I return the Motorhome?

We ask that you keep the Motorhome clean and tidy during your trip and return it in the same condition you received it.
If it’s not returned clean, an additional cleaning fee will apply.

What should I do with grey & waste water before returning your Motorhome?

  • Empty the grey water tank

  • Empty the chemical toilet cassette (instructions provided)

  • Petrol stations are often the easiest place for this

Is smoking allowed in the Motorhome?

No. All CoconutRoads Motorhomes are strictly non-smoking.

  • Smoking or vaping must be done outside the vehicle

  • Cigarettes must be fully extinguished

Non-compliance may result in a THB 5,000+ penalty per situation.

Is Durian allowed in the Motorhome?

No. Durian is strictly not permitted inside the vehicle

What equipment and utensils are included?

Your Motorhome comes equipped with:

  • 1 × outdoor camping table

  • 4 × camping chairs

  • 1 × cooler box

  • Utensils and tableware

  • Washing-up materials

  • Back-up lighting

Together, we will check all equipment during pick-up and return.
All items must be returned in full and in good condition.

Who is responsible for traffic fines and violations?

The named renter/driver is responsible for:

  • All traffic fines

  • Road regulation violations

If CoconutRoads receives a notice, we are required to forward your name and contact details to the authorities, who will issue the fine directly to you.

Is wild camping allowed in Thailand with the Motorhome?

For safety and legal reasons, wild camping is not permitted, including:

  • Beaches

  • Jungles

  • Forests

If you choose to ignore this rule, you will be held responsible for any legal or financial consequences that result.

What substances am I prohibited from consuming before driving?

You must not drive under the influence of:

  • Alcohol

  • Cannabis

  • Narcotic substances

  • Medication affecting alertness or reaction time

Doing so is illegal and will invalidate your insurance and rental agreement.

Which legal jurisdiction applies to my rental?

All legal matters or disputes fall under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Thailand.
