Please note: You must remain within Thailand during your journey. Crossing international borders isn’t allowed, and we kindly ask that you stay at least 20 km from any neighbouring country.

Avoid town and city centres - CoconutRoads Motorhomes are large vehicles, and navigating heavy traffic or narrow streets can be challenging.

Who Can Drive?

To drive one of our Motorhomes, you’ll need to:

  • Be at least 25 years old

  • Have held a valid driving licence for a minimum of 5 years

  • Present either a valid Thai or international driving licence on the day of pick-up

Only the person named on the rental agreement is allowed to drive the Motorhome, but you're welcome to add extra drivers at no additional cost.

Just make sure all drivers are listed and meet the licence requirements.

Please note: lending, sub-renting, or handing the vehicle over to anyone else is strictly not permitted.

How Many People Can Travel?

Each CoconutRoads Motorhome is designed to carry a maximum of four people:

  • Two in the truck cabin

  • Two in the home cabin

Seatbelts are provided for all passengers and must be worn at all times, as required by law.

Travelling with Children

Our Motorhomes aren’t suitable for very young children. The minimum age for a child to travel with us is 12 years old.

If you're travelling with minors, you accept full responsibility for their safety and wellbeing throughout the journey.

Pets & Animals

We absolutely understand how special it is to travel with pets, but for now, we kindly ask that you leave your furry friends at home. Pets are not permitted in our Motorhomes, and if this is not respected, a penalty and deep-cleaning fee will be applied.

Motorhome Maintenance

Each Motorhome is handed over with:

  • A full tank of diesel

  • Proper oil and coolant levels

  • And a thorough maintenance check

If you notice anything unusual - a strange sound or mechanical issue - please head to the nearest garage (Brand dealer preferred for major issues). If a repair is needed, keep all receipts and we’ll reimburse you in full.

Care & Damage

While it’s yours for the journey, please treat the Motorhome as you would your own home.

  • No open flames inside the vehicle - it’s strictly prohibited for safety reasons

  • A microwave is provided for heating food

  • A fire extinguisher is located onboard for emergency use only

  • Any damage, whether accidental or not, must be reported by the end of your trip

Failure to report damage may result in charges for repairs, as outlined in your rental agreement.

Cleanliness & Return Condition

We’d really rather not have to charge cleaning fees at the end of your road trip, so we kindly ask you to keep the Motorhome tidy and clean throughout your rental.

Please return it to our CoconutRoads base in the same condition you received it.

If it’s not returned clean, an additional cleaning fee will apply.

Before handing the Motorhome back:

  • Empty the grey water tank and chemical toilet cassette following the instructions provided. Petrol stations are often the best place to do this.

Smoking & Strong Smells

All CoconutRoads Motorhomes are strictly non-smoking

  • Please smoke or vape outside the vehicle only

  • Always extinguish cigarettes properly before disposing of them

  • And please - no durian fruit inside the vehicle

Non-compliance with any of the above may result in a THB 5,000+ penalty per situation.

Small Equipment & Utensils

Coconutroads supplies your Motorhome with the following equipment for your comfort and use

  • 1x outdoor camping table

  • 4x camping chairs

  • 1x cooler box

  • Utensils and tableware

  • Washing up materials

  • Back up lighting

Together we will check all equipment and tick the checklist both at pick up and return dates. All items provided to you free of charge must be returned with the vehicle at the end of your road trip.

Responsibilities & Accountability

Fines & Traffic Violations

As the named renter and driver, you are responsible for any traffic fines or road regulation violations that occur during your rental. If we receive notice of a traffic offence, CoconutRoads is required to pass your name and contact details to the relevant authorities, who will then issue the fine directly to you.

Wild Camping

While the campervan lifestyle is gaining popularity in Thailand, it’s important to choose your overnight stops carefully and responsibly. For safety and legal reasons, CoconutRoads does not allow wild camping, including on beaches, in jungles, or forests. If you choose to ignore this rule, you will be held accountable for any legal or financial consequences that result.

Occupancy Limits

Your Motorhome is insured for a maximum of four people. While driving, no more than two passengers are permitted in the rear cabin, and everyone must wear a seatbelt at all times when the vehicle is in motion.

Driving Restrictions

You must not drive the Motorhome under the influence of:

  • Alcohol

  • Cannabis

  • Any narcotic substances

  • Any medication that affects alertness or reaction time

Doing so is not only illegal, but will also invalidate your insurance and rental agreement.

Legal Jurisdiction

Any disputes or legal matters relating to your hire will fall under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of Thailand.
