Horseback Riding in Kauai

Horseback riding is top on my list of Kauai activities, but then I've always love horses. It's a great way to see the scenery without dealing with all that traffic that's causing gridlock at rush hour on this small island!
Horseback riding in Kauai is fun whether in sunny Poipu, tropical Wailua and majestically scenic North Kauai.

Speaking of the range, because of Hawaii's rich paniolo tradition most stables offer Western riding. You'll find horse shows with dressage and hunter seat, but it's unlikely you'll find English saddles on horseback riding tours.
Many of the North Kauai horseback tours go to Silver Falls. The
Silver Falls Ranch is a very popular one. This large array of small waterfalls sparkle silver in the sunlight, hence the name. In the daytime, when the horseback riding tours go, children (and older ones too) climb and slide on them into the pool below while the horses graze nearby in the meadow.
Other Kauai trail rides take visitors through the wild and beautiful interior of Kalihiwai and Kamooka Ridge.
Because the Garden Isle is so small, no matter where you go horseback riding in Kauai, it's nearly impossible to find a trail ride that doesn't include amazing views. And waterfall side lunches are practically tradition. Many of the guides allow time to take pictures of each other under the falls.
